Exercises in Reading and Technique for The Elementary to Advanced Student

The aspiring drummer must focus his/her attention on rhythmic accuracy, technical development and command of the rudiments of drumming. Hence, deficiency with any of the aforementioned will impede this student’s ability to progress in his/her studies, and/or to effectively perform with an ensemble. Thus, the objective of this book is to present an educational resource that aims to improve this student’s ability to perform rhythms of varying complexity; an educational resource that aims to develop and refine this student’s technique; and an educational resource that aims to develop this student’s mastery and application of the rudiments of drumming.
It is understood by this author that no student or teacher is alike. Thus, this method is designed to easily be integrated with students of varying levels; while granting the instructor the flexibility to incorporate it as he/she deems best. Therefore, regardless of student ability, or instructional approach, this method should serve to be a source of learning throughout a student’s course of study.
